Saylor signals new Strategy Bitcoin buy hours before STRC dividend vote deadline

Strategy executive chairman Michael Saylor posted on X.com on Sunday that it was "a good time to add more dots," sharing a bubble chart from Iceland-registered StrategyTracker.com that tracks the company's Bitcoin purchases over the past nearly six years. The chart has been consistently posted by Saylor in the days preceding announcements of new BTC acquisitions by the largest publicly traded corporate holder of the asset. By mid-afternoon Sunday, Saylor's post had drawn 2.3 million views. CEO Phong Le reposted Saylor's message, writing, "Our corporate @Strategy is to increase net Bitcoin and Bitcoin per share over time. Rumors otherwise are just rumors."

Any purchases announced in the coming days would come against the backdrop of a sharp pullback in Bitcoin, which was trading at about $62,153 at the time of publication, down 16.6% over the previous seven days, according to CoinMarketCap data. Strategy's current holdings of 843,706 BTC were acquired at an average price of $75,701 per coin. The company's most recent accumulation was paused last week when it announced a repurchase of corporate debt, a move that unsettled some market participants concerned the firm might be forced to liquidate part of its Bitcoin stack to fund the buybacks.

The signal comes hours before Monday's Strategy shareholder meeting, where investors are due to deliver a final tally on a proxy measure that would change dividend payments on the company's STRC preferred shares from monthly to semi-monthly. The amendment requires approval from holders of 50% of all 85 million STRC shares outstanding as of April 17, 2026. Strategy has argued that the change would reduce reinvestment lag, enhance liquidity, and increase price stability.

Saylor addressed the proposed cadence at last week's Synergy26 conference for registered investment advisers, saying, "We think that it should decrease the volatility, should cut the volatility by some decent factor. It should increase the Sharpe ratio. It provides more entry and exit points. There's 24,000 companies that pay a quarterly dividend. 176 pay monthly. We'll be paying twice a month. And so that's, it's an interesting thing. It all will start in June. In July." Cointelegraph requested information on the number of shareholders who had voted as of June 7 in an email to proxy solicitor Allianc
