Kalshi Rolls Out XRP Perpetuals, Tempts Traders With the Magic Word: Free 🆓
CFTC-regulated prediction market Kalshi launched XRP perpetual futures for United States users on Wednesday, confirming the rollout in a post on X. The platform introduced the product under the "American Perpetuals" label, positioning it as a compliant trading venue for domestic participants. Perpetuals on Kalshi carry no expiration date and operate under federal oversight.
To draw early liquidity, Kalshi announced zero trading fees for a limited period, with users required to join a waiting list to access the promotion. The move follows last week's debut of Ethereum perpetuals on the platform, which itself came after Kalshi received CFTC approval to offer Bitcoin perpetual futures. With XRP now live, Kalshi has indicated that perpetual futures for Solana, XLM, DOGE and Hedera are expected to launch next.
The addition of XRP futures comes amid growing regulatory clarity for the asset within the United States, a factor the XRP community and Ripple have pointed to as supportive of broader adoption and liquidity. Kalshi's perpetuals are designed for US users and are governed by the Commodity Futures Trading Commission, distinguishing the venue from offshore derivatives platforms.
Market data cited in coverage showed that XRP futures open interest on Kalshi topped Hyperliquid futures open interest on the day of the launch, underscoring immediate engagement with the new product. The platform's fee-free window is intended to accelerate user onboarding during the early stages. The introduction of additional altcoin perpetuals, including Solana, XLM, DOGE and Hedera, is set to expand Kalshi's regulated derivatives footprint further as the platform scales its American Perpetuals lineup.
