Oracle, Please: Myriad Hands Chainlink the Whistle for World Cup Bets ⚽

Prediction market platform Myriad has made Chainlink its "exclusive oracle infrastructure" for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, automating the resolution and settlement of match markets on the platform. The integration extends Myriad's existing use of the Chainlink Runtime Environment (CRE), which already powers the platform's crypto price markets covering $BTC, $ETH, $BNB and $SOL, with real-world asset (RWA) markets planned to follow. Under the arrangement, CRE will serve as a unified orchestration layer handling market creation, resolution and settlement for World Cup–themed trading.

Myriad framed the upgrade as a replacement for the slower, manual settlement methods common on some prediction platforms. "The World Cup is the biggest stage in sport, and it's exactly the kind of moment Myriad was built for," said Myriad co-founder and COO Ilan Hazan, adding that "traders want outcomes they can trust, the moment the whistle blows." Hazan said the Chainlink integration will enable near-instant market settlement and payouts, giving Myriad the reliability to "turn first-time users into long-term ones" during the tournament.

Chainlink Labs highlighted the tamper-proof auditability of its blockchain-powered oracles as a key feature for a high-traffic event. "By adopting Chainlink, Myriad enables its prediction markets for the 2026 FIFA World Cup to deliver users accurate resolutions, high-speed settlement, and instant payouts," said William Reilly, Head of Strategic Initiatives at Chainlink Labs, adding that the setup will help "reduce resolution disputes" for soccer fans worldwide.

To mark the kickoff, Myriad is launching a $100,000 trading competition on its World Cup markets in collaboration with Layer-1 blockchain D.Energy. The top three traders will receive $20,000, $10,000 and $5,000 respectively, with the remaining $10,000 split across the rest of the leaderboard. Weekly maker volume rewards of $5,000 will be distributed throughout the contest, with the leaderboard reset each week.

"We're thrilled to be running this contest during the World Cup," said Myriad co-founder and president Farokh Sarmad, noting that the tournament's global audience offers a platform to demonstrate how prediction markets function around major sporting events. Prediction markets allow users to buy and sell shares tied to the outcome of future events, with prices moving between $0 and $1 to reflect implied odds, a structure the firms say the Chainlink infrastructure is now built to support at scale.
