Whales Slam VVV 15% Lower, Retail Still Hands Them a $51M Receipt 📉
Venice Token (VVV) dropped 15% over the past day as top traders and whales concentrated sell pressure on the asset, leaving its price trend decisively skewed downward. Binance top trader accounts saw their Long/Short Ratio fall to 0.6 over a 24-hour window, a reading below the neutral level of one that signals sellers are firmly in control; the further the figure sits from one, the deeper the imbalance between buying and selling volume. Binance commands the largest share of VVV volume among perpetual venues that list the token, processing $51.3 million in trading according to CoinGlass.
The whale-versus-retail delta has climbed into positive territory at 0.022, its highest reading in days, indicating whales — investors moving large capital — now dominate trading activity. Pressure from Binance top traders, retail traders on the exchange leaning into the sell side, and bearish whale selling together have weighed on prices. Overall volume has dropped 18% even as price continues to slide, a combination that has historically pointed to fading sell pressure rather than a building sell wave.
Despite that selling, buyers have not stepped away. The Bollinger Bands show the upper red line marking the overvalued zone and the lower blue line marking the undervalued zone that often precedes rebounds. On the last two occasions VVV dropped into that lower band, it rallied more than 400% and 150% respectively, a record that highlights how aggressively bulls have defended the level.
Spot market netflow reinforces the picture, with traders having bought more VVV on spot than they sold. Over the past seven days, total netflow printed a positive reading of $824,960, and total purchases across that window reached roughly $15.66 million as buyer demand continued to build.
Community sentiment, which tracks bullish or bearish conviction across the market, still leans positive on VVV but has eased from 84% to 79% over the past 24 hours, indicating some weakening in expectations of a near-term rally.
